About Me
My name is Craig, I’m a 27 year old nerd, and this is my personal website. When I was a young kid, I was always interested in having my own website. At the time, I didn’t realize the process was that simple. By the time I turned 18 back in 2015 and acquired a debit card from my bank, I decided to buy a domain and cheap VPS. This website has been around since then.
I have been fascinated by computers and how they work since a young age. I remember when I was about 4 years old, I used to change the settings on our old iMac to see how I could customize the computer. I also learned how to change the settings on my grandparents old Windows 98 PC and had a very fun time customizing the 3D Maze screensaver. As I got older and things progressed I progressed with them, and I started learning new tricks in things like Mac OS X and Windows XP, Windows 7, and eventually, Linux.
I also enjoyed some of the games I could play on the computer, such as LEGO Island, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and this typing game for the Mac (that I can’t remember the name of at the moment). I also started playing with things like the Nintendo GameBoy Advance, DS, and Wii, but I never lost my passion for PC gaming. Currently I game on exclusively on the PC, emulating legacy and modern console games I have a passion for.
About the time I turned 13, I realized that a career in computers was my calling. I tried long and hard for many years after graduating high school to get a job in my preferred field. Finally that day came at the ripe old age of 25, when I impressed the IT guy 1 month after landing a job as a packager at a manufacturing firm in Bend, OR. I have been working as an IT support specialist ever since. While I am no longer attending school, I am always learning more about how technology works by reading documentation or playing around with different scenarios in VMs. I am also slowly learning how to write code.
When I’m not studying, learning more about how computers work, or working, I can be found gaming, fishing, golfing, driving my car, listening to music (especially Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, and Metallica), or just hanging with my friends. I also like to travel, and would love to see more of the world.
I hope you enjoy reading this website as much as I have putting it together. Feel free to contact me at any point if you have comments or questions.
