RIP Ford and Hello Rav4
So in October I wound up wrecking my 2006 Ford Escape by rear-ending someone as I didn’t react fast enough to them stopping on the highway. At the time I swore off of driving and I proclaimed I would carpool or take the bus to work. However, after about a week I got that cooped up feeling, and so I decided to start car shopping. I wanted to get a Rav4 pretty bad. There was one for sale at the dealership in my hometown for $19995. However, when I went to get a loan, I was told I would need a co-signer. No biggie, my dad says he’ll cosign with me. Unfortunately, my dad went out of town the following Sunday. And after talking to my grandparents, I decided that I wouldn’t want to have gone through the credit union anyways. So I kept looking around, and then a Rav4 from 2015 popped up at a dealer in Bend, OR for $16990. I decided “what the hell why not”
I went to the dealer on Friday the 11th. We took the thing for a test drive. As I was driving it, I noticed how well it handled compared to even my Escape, and how well it worked, it was so smooth. So I decided that I would go forward with it. I went into the credit office, and twiddled my thumbs for about 2 hours before finally coming back with a YES! I wound up buying it, albeit for $400/mo, as the interest rate were a bit high at 10%. They did say I could refinance after 1 year.
Update 11/17/2022
I have picked up the Rav4. Here’s the pictures of it:
